What to consider when choosing holiday accommodation (Part One)
At Hout Bay Manor we believe you should relax and have fun – because after all, you are on holiday. This means different things to different people and going on holiday as a couple or family, or with dear friends – or even on your own – needs to tick certain boxes to make sure that you will get the most enjoyment out of your time away.
Once you have chosen your destination the next most important factor in a successful holiday is the accommodation. Here is a guide to help you in what to consider when choosing holiday accommodation that is best for you.
Before you start looking at specific options, ask yourself these four important questions:
Why are you going on holiday? The overall purpose for your trip will have a direct impact on the accommodation you choose. Are you looking for complete relaxation, to sightsee and experience the city or environment you are visiting, to connect with nature, or are you after an exciting new adventure? Perhaps your answer is, “All of the above”.
Are you taking a holiday with children? Not every holiday spot is suitable for families, and some holiday accommodation does not cater for children. What family-friendly facilities may be essential to making your holiday a great success?
How long will you be staying? You could be after a romantic weekend getaway or planning your wedding and honeymoon. You could be looking for the best place to stay for your annual family holiday, or planning a long holiday stay with a very particular goal in mind.
Do you want to cater for yourselves or eat out? You may love the thought of evenings to yourselves, with leisurely dinners prepared in your own private space, rather than having to be out to eat – particularly if your children are young or are picky eaters. Or you may want a total break from cooking and washing up, and may be looking forward to sampling the cuisine of a different culture.
We love it when families come to stay
When it comes to staying in Luxury accommodation in Cape Town, no boutique hotel would be complete without a family suite – ours is called the Sangoma Suite. Hout Bay Manor’s gracious team is standing by to welcome you and your family, and will see to your every need to make your stay a comfortable and unforgettable one. Our restaurant, EAT, offers such a delicious a children’s menu that we regularly have adult patrons ask to be allowed to order what their children are having.
